VITAL AID ACT is a nonprofit organization based in Lalo, Benin, that empowers vulnerable rural widows, young single mothers, and orphaned girls through training in best practices of local poultry farming and in maggot production as an affordable protein source. The project provides women with practical skills that reduce feed costs and increase the profitability of their poultry activities, strengthening both household livelihoods and community resilience.

A professional training center operates as a poultry unit and maggot production facility, where participants learn improved poultry management techniques, feed formulation, and maggot rearing. Women also complete internships to gain hands-on experience that prepares them to manage and expand their own poultry enterprises. In addition, mobile training sessions are organized in villages across Lalo to reach women who cannot access the center, ensuring equal opportunities for all. By 2030, the project will have trained more than 10,000 women, advancing food security and gender equality in Benin.
