This year, Resolve returns to an in-person gathering at the historic Altman Building in New York City. In addition to the opportunity to network with hundreds of like-minded professionals committed to supporting youth entrepreneurship, attendees can dance the night away during a DJ set by the one and only, Grammy- and Academy-Award winning artist, Questlove!
Since 2010, Resolve has functioned as a vibrant signature celebration of the achievements of our solution-oriented and forward-thinking Fellows around the world. Social entrepreneurs have used their creativity to flex technology amidst a pandemic, redefined leadership in inspiring ways, and have positively impacted the lives of over six million individuals.
Although held virtually, Resolve 2020 reached over 1600 people around the world showing that no matter the platform or the place, our traditions and collective commitment to social impact will always remain.
Over the years, celebrities such as John Legend, Estelle, Wyclef Jean, and most recently Grammy nominated artist and producer Ryan Leslie have joined us in honoring the accomplishments of our growing family of Resolution Fellows.
Every year, Resolution celebrates one social entrepreneur with the Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine Young Leaders Now Award and one industry leader with The Champions Circle Award for Supporting Young Leaders at the Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine Young Leaders Now Award Dinner.
Resolution launched its annual Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine Young Leaders Now Award to honor individuals who:
Started their own social venture during college and serve as an inspiration and role model for Resolution Fellows worldwide, and/or
Contribute leadership and financial support to young leaders seeking solutions to pressing social issues.
Previous awardees include: Zainab Salbi, Karim Abouelnaga, Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine, Louise Langheier, Monica Gray Logothetis, and Shiza Shahid.
The Champions Circle Award for Supporting Young Leaders is presented to top leaders and outstanding changemakers who have assisted young leaders and emerging innovators, either in a personal capacity or through their organizations, thereby generating enduring, positive social impact.
Previous awardees include: Ronan Dunne, Reeta Roy, Nicholas Logothetis, Jacqueline Novogratz, and James S. Turley.
This beautiful event features a cocktail hour followed by elegant seated dinner with remarks from our honorees and Resolution Fellows.
The event’s namesake, Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine, is a global leader in philanthropy and business, whose impact crosses sectors, geographies, and subjects seamlessly. She is President and Board Chair of the Sunshine Care Foundation, an organization based in Asia and primarily dedicated to promoting youth education, humanitarian relief, and scientific research in neurodegenerative diseases.
While an undergraduate at Harvard College, she founded the Harvard World Model United Nations Conference in 1992, creating one of the longest-lasting international youth education and empowerment events in the world. WorldMUN was Resolution’s original Social Venture Challenge Host Conference.
Geraldine is a dedicated supporter of youth worldwide and believes strongly in the power of youth to create change. She has devoted her life to building and supporting programs to develop the next generation of global leaders. We are deeply honored to have Geraldine as one of the original members of Resolution’s Board of Directors and to have recognized her as the 2016 Young Leaders Now Award recipient.
