Ruth is a student leader in her 2nd year at Makerere University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication. As an enterprising lady, she held different leadership positions in her high school and won entrepreneurship awards. As a proponent of human rights and women empowerment, Ruth has been involved in community service activities to improve livelihoods in Western Uganda. She is a team worker, critical thinker, and artisan who sells crafts to get campus upkeep.
She is the co-founder of Touch One Reach All (TOORA), a non- Governmental Organization that operates in Western Ugandan communities aiming to positively change the livelihoods of the less privileged groups by equipping them with hands-on skills to help them create self-employment and thus become economically independent. Ruth envisions a world of equal opportunities and decent living that she hopes to champion through civil society by creating capacity among the marginalized.
