Levi Tukundane is a journalist turned farmer, Resolution Fellow (Class 14), and former President of the MasterCard Foundation Scholars at Makerere University. After graduating in 2022, he resigned from his job to dedicate himself to empowering vulnerable individuals in his community. He founded Touch One Reach All (TOORA), a Resolution-funded Community-Based Organization addressing critical social and economic challenges.
Through the Resolution Fellowship, Levi impacted over 100 direct beneficiaries by equipping underprivileged teenage mothers, women, and the elderly with hands-on skills. These skills enhanced their entrepreneurship capabilities, enabling them to create eco-friendly crafts that are in high demand in local markets. This project, which is self-sustaining within the community, has played a pivotal role in economically empowering these individuals.
Drawing inspiration from his experiences as a practicing farmer and witnessing his late father’s struggles, Levi has led initiatives to transform agriculture in Uganda and Africa. His work focuses on shifting from subsistence farming to sustainable commercial production—critical to unlocking Africa’s development potential and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Levi’s innovative and hands-on approach reflects his deep commitment to community transformation, sustainability, and creating lasting impact in agriculture, livelihoods, and sustainable farming practices for future generations.
