Aurea Natalia Salas Aragón was born in Costa Rica on the 27th of April 1989 in San José but raised in Bagaces, Guanacaste. She studied in Liberia and after high school, she moved to San José to do a degree in Political Science and a separate degree in Photography in the Universidad de Costa Rica and Universidad Creativa respectively. After this, she moved to Spain to study advertising and public relations in the Universidad de Navarra where she participated in various activities including the Harvard Model of the United Nations in Vancouver, Canada and the Harvard Model in Melbourne, Australia. It was in the World Model of the United Nations in Melbourne where she, along with 3 other team members, presented her Social Venture Project, Connecting Children, with the aim to provide quality education to students in the rural areas of Costa Rica.
