Ofori Richard is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar studying Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. He has served as a Project
Coordinator for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KNUST, and currently serving as project
committee member for Mastercard Foundation Scholars at KNUST. Richard is passionate about building
the capacity of young people through the use of science and technology to develop STEM, entrepreneurial
and leadership skills. Richard is the founder of Kwabeng Robotics and Mentorship Hub. The aim of the
a social venture is to ignite the desire of students to pursue STEM majors at the tertiary, inspire and unlock
creativity, innovation, and passion for Science and Technology among young people in Ghana, by using the
the motivational effect of robotics and mentorship to develop STEM skills, while building well-rounded
leadership skills including emotional intelligence, self-confidence, communication, and stewardship.
