Moriah Shay is a student at Oregon State University majoring in management. For most of her life she never believed that college was an option. She simply did not have the financial resources available to pursue her dreams. But through relentless hard work and community support she is able to dream big and attend a four-year university while inspiring others to work hard in order to achieve what they never thought was possible. She has always been interested in the educational system and how we as a nation can help prepare students to be competitive in the ever-changing job economy. Her goal is to become a project manager at The Boeing Company and eventually become a university-level professor. Bob Dylan, a songwriting transcendentalist once said, “Always be in the state of becoming,” and she tries her best to live by these words.
