BIO

Kristen is a second year at the University of Chicago, majoring in Economics with a specialization in Data Science. She formed Open Access with two other UChicago undergrads to empower students, families, and educators to navigate Chicago Public Schools special education programs. Kristen has been involved with disability rights and advocacy for nine years. She’s taught at a pre-school for children with disabilities, served on the Minnesota Special Olympics Student Board of Directors, and currently assists a UChicago professor with research on the deaf community in India. She’s particularly interested in the intersection between public policy and disability rights. She has interned with U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the Illinois House Majority Leader. She is excited to join the Resolution Project family and help create a more accessible world.
