BIO

In 2013, Christine Wang and Shermin Luo founded Global Youth Mentorship Initiative (GYMI) to teach summer-school style curricula in the arts and technology to elementary school students in rural Quzhou, China. College students act as invaluable mentors to the middle school students and help foster their creativity, leadership, and pragmatic skills. Through GYMI, young underprivileged students are empowered to pursue their dreams and their education.

As of fall 2016, the venture reports having worked with 480 students.
