Salam Helwany was born in Tripoli, Lebanon in 1997. She studied at the Saint Elie des Pere Carmes, Tripoli then, in 2015, received a full scholarship from MasterCard foundation to pursue environmental health studies at American University of Beirut. Since 2016, she is working on a medical research volunteer program at AUBMC. She is an active citizen who had a significant journey of social participation in volunteering in several domains and awareness campaigns (education, health care, reforestation…). One of the goals she is working on is to share her knowledge as environmental specialist and apply what she had been taught in her country. She initiated “Green Shift” a project which will be concerned with several environmental aspects of her city Tripoli.
