Logan is a senior at the University of Chicago majoring in biological sciences with a specialization in cancer biology. He intends to pursue a graduate program in biological research and ultimately plans to become a cancer biologist. Through his co-curricular involvements, he has cultivated a passion for science education outreach, which led him to found Science on the South Side with Stephanie Sang as an expansion of their student organization, UChicago Science Olympiad. Through this initiative, the team will create an elementary Science Olympiad program in minority- and low-income-serving elementary schools in the Chicago Public Schools district. The ultimately goal of this project is to help alleviate the minority achievement gap in science, which begins in elementary school in CPS and remains persistent through high school and beyond.
