Lucien Charland, Charlene Kormondy, and their venture, Standard Hydro, construct and operate hydroponic shade houses in St. Kitts & Nevis to increase the resilience of the communities to climate-based threats to their food source and offer employment and training opportunities. Recently, the venture reported it is servicing approximately 450 weekly customers in the farmers’ market and 120 customers with its home deliveries, in addition to selling to 5 restaurants. It has also hosted about 1950 students in its training programs.
