Project Plus One developed a domestic violence education module to be integrated into an existing education program for midwives from rural regions of Timor Leste. Through this venture, 17 midwives were able to directly impact 115 patients across 17 different villages across 11 different rural regions of Timor-Leste. The midwives were trained in recognizing and responding to domestic violence: this can manifest in one-to-one conversations with at-risk patients, group discussions led by the community, to discussing policy with local leaders and state heads.
