Betsy Graves and Dan Cahill received their Resolution Fellowships for the project, ‘Making the Most of Water,’ through which they piloted micro-drip irrigation in Nyanza Province, Kenya. The test plots were so successful that the local community and water authority have formed an alliance to bring more of these systems to the region. Betsy has also done work in women’s rights and voter registration in Kenya, working at length in-country. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations at American University. Dan is a graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy and served as commissioning Executive Officer of the USCGC Charles David Jr., a Sentinel-Class Fast Response Cutter, in Key West, Florida. Most recently, Dan was selected for the Coast Guard Post Graduate Legal Education program and is attending Boston College Law School.
