Resolution Fellow Shaan Gandhi is the Managing Director of ‘Health2Home’ and is currently pursuing an MD at Harvard Medical School and an MBA at Harvard Business School.  A 2010 graduate of the University of Oxford with a PhD in medical oncology and a 2007 graduate of Case Western Reserve University with a BS (honors) in biochemistry and a BA in chemistry, he has conducted fundamental and translational research on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and immunological conditions at the National Cancer Institute, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Mayo Clinic and Roche Pharmaceuticals. Health2Home is working to provide healthcare notifications and reminders via text message to patients in rural areas, without reliable access to medical information, such as Lira Province in Uganda.  These text messages will link pregnant women to hospitals and care, remind them of best practices, and inform them of when they should seek professional assistance.
