Tom Pryor is an MBA Candidate at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley, concentrating on entrepreneurship, education, and technology. Tom recently helped launch and continues to advise Pearson Education’s new Affordable Learning Fund, a $15m impact investment VC fund that invests in low-cost private schools and service providers in emerging markets. He has also been a consultant to Purpose Inc and the Gates Foundation. Prior to moving to the Bay Area Tom was leading impact investments as an Investment Associate and Global Fellow at LeapFrog Investments, a $135m profit-with-purpose private equity fund. Before this Tom was based in Sydney for three years as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. At Berkeley-Haas he is a Skydeck Fellow, an Associate and Founding Member of the new Cal Venture Fund, and Co-President of the Education Leadership Club. Tom has bachelor’s degrees in Commerce and Arts from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
