Sharon Atyang is a passionate gender advocate and a mental health enthusiast from Uganda,
currently pursuing MSc in Rural Community Development at the American University of Beirut.

Sharon worked as a Project Assistant at Wii Tuke Gender Initiative, where she played a key role
in designing and implementing women’s empowerment initiatives. One of her great
achievements was leading digital literacy training for 400 young girls and women from
marginalized communities. She also worked as an administrative assistant at DIT Advocates.

She led several impactful giveback initiatives. Sharon’s leadership and innovations have earned
her grants and awards, including Social Venture seed fund from Mastercard Foundation Scholars
Program at Makerere University, Freedom of Expression Hackathon by WOUGNET, and others.

She is driven by a passion to make the world a better place for marginalized and underserved
communities, believing that even putting a smile on just one or two more faces makes a
meaningful difference.
