Pumla Maswanganyi is a South African entrepreneur, development strategist, and mentor, working at the intersection of design, global development, and youth and women empowerment. As a global citizen speaking 7 languages, and having lived and worked on 5 continents, she is committed to disrupting conventional development approaches, such as traditional education and employment norms. Pumla currently serves as an executive leader and strategist in three social impact focused organisations. As the youngest company executive, she serves as the Head of Strategy and Operations at Baobab Consulting, a firm that creates equitable inter-cultural collaboration with a focus on Africa. She is also the Chief Strategy Officer at Jara, an organisation creating an IoT (Internet of Things) device to provide emergency education to children living in post-disaster zones. Finally, she holds an executive seat, as the Vice-Chair of the International Youth Coalition for Education (IYCE), the only youth-led organisation dedicated to uniting young actors innovating and reshaping education.
