Dr. N Prasanth Kumar, is a Senior Scientist at GE Global Research, Bangalore. He is with GE Global Research for past 13 years and has been working in the field of Materials Science, developing new materials for GE Lighting, GE Healthcare and GE Oil &Gas businesses. One of the phosphor material developed by his team has enabled GE Lighting to launch their first White LED product called Vio TM. He holds close to 15 patents and more than 20 external publications. Prasanth is an active member of Electro chemical society (ECS) and also acts as an external reviewer for international journals like Optical materials and Journal of Electro Chemical Society. Prasanth is also an active GE Volunteer and as part of volunteer activity he is involved in teaching, conducting medical camps and organizing Science fair for underprivileged school children. Prasanth earned his B.Sc, M.Sc and M.Phil degrees in Physics from Madras University and Ph.D (Physics) from IIT Bombay in the year 2000.
