Michael Blaustein is dedicated to creating and enhancing opportunities for children and adults to succeed through improved education. Currently, he serves as Special Assistant to the Commissioner of Education of New Jersey, where he oversees various policy and programmatic initiatives and assists with the supervision of the state’s 2,500 public schools. Prior to joining the administration of Governor Chris Christie, Michael co-founded a education technology startup and was a founding board member of a network of charter schools based in Brooklyn. Previously, he was an investment professional at two venture capital firms, DCM and Insight Venture Partners, where he focused on investments in education, business services, and digital media companies in the U.S. and Asia. He began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company in New York. Michael attended Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
