Jasmine Mitchell will serve as Assistant Professor of American Studies and Media Studies at SUNY-Old Westbury. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in American Studies at the University of Minnesota with graduate minors in Feminist and Critical Sexuality Studies and African Diaspora Studies. Prior to graduate school, she worked as an Audience Development and Marketing Associate at the Museum of the City of New York, as a Programming Associate at the education non-profit, NJ SEEDS, and as a theater teacher at the American School in São Paulo. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and has extensive experience working in Latin America.
