George A. Tsougarakis is General Counsel at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. As a partner at Hughes Hubbard and Reed in New York City, he was one of the firm’s leading commercial litigators with more than 25 years of experience. Mr. Tsougarakis spent his entire career at Hughes Hubbard, where he has enjoyed a broad and varied litigation practice.
Mr. Tsougarakis’ experience covers a wide range of practice areas, including pharmaceutical products litigation and class actions. Within these areas, he has performed several critical roles, from trying cases to counseling clients on how to avoid litigation.
Mr. Tsougarakis has a Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and a JD from University of Pennsylvania Law School. He is a member, and 2008 Attorney of the Year, of the Hellenic Lawyer Association and sits on the Advisory Board of the Detroit Mercy School of Law and the Monroe College Department of Criminal Justice.
