Akanksha is an advocate for women’s economic empowerment through financial inclusion. She has a decade of experience in leading diverse strategic initiatives through research, knowledge management, stewardship, fundraising, mentorship to social ventures, and supporting investment decisions. At present, she works as part of the Strategic Partnerships function at Women’s World Banking, with an aim to drive philanthropic capital towards increasing access of financial services (savings, credit, microinsurance) to low-income women in emerging markets. Five years back, she took a conscious decision to transition her career from private investments to social impact space. In her investment career, she enabled closure of ~$20 million worth debt investment transactions for underserved growing businesses within clean energy and waste management space. She holds an MBA in Finance and B.A. in Economics from the University of Delhi, India.
