SVCs in Michigan and Massachusetts

In February, we traveled to Dearborn, Michigan, and Boston, Massachusetts for Social Venture Challenges with Henry Ford College and Harvard National Model United Nations, respectively. We were thrilled to award the Resolution Fellowship to nine teams comprising of 19 young leaders. After a period of onboarding, we will proudly welcome them to the Resolution community and help them launch and grow their social ventures.

Henry Ford College SVC – Dearborn, Michigan

CAPNOS LLC – Jake Roach & Brendan Wang

CAPNOS aims to help people breathe better with a safe alternative to vaping. The CAPNOS Zero satiates oral fixations by providing a pressurized hit of air along with a flavored mouth tip to provide a similar experience of vaping/smoking.

Feso Jaiye Art LLC – Olatola Ibrahim

Feso Jaiye Art will bring art and cultural celebration to underserved communities in Detroit as a form of therapy. 

Fix My Finance – Tyran Chandler

Tyran and his team are running financial literacy workshops for 13-17 year-old youth in Flint, Michigan. 

SAVA (Sexual Assault Victims Alliance) – Anil Bansal, Jessica Schrader, & Candice Williams

SAVA’s goal is to provide on-campus resources to victims of sexual assault, including: legal advisement, psychological services, and academic advisement.

 

Harvard Model United Nations SVC in Boston

Anyemi Literacy Project – Keith Cleland, Stephanie Darko, Edith Tetteh 

Anyemi Literacy Project aims to improve the literacy of children in an orphanage in the Eastern Region of Ghana. 

Booksville – Sedinam Botwe and Ewura Ama Konduba Jenkins 

Booksville is a mobile library project that will provide children in the greater Accra region of Ghana with books specifically handpicked according to the age and the needs of each child. 

Cure – Mahamudul Hassan Tonmoy

Cure is a telemedicine app in Bangladesh that will greatly increase access to doctors, particularly for women and people in rural areas. 

PADucation Project – Samuela Boakye-Appiah, Kofi Darfour Boakye-Appiah, Michael Oppong 

This venture seeks to educate young girls and boys about menstruation, as well as provide access to sanitary pads, in Ningo Prampram, Ghana. 

Save our Soles – Susan Sena Azasoo, Emmanuella Biney, Ewoenam Esi Ablo

This venture aims to provide handcrafted shoes to students in Agorko, Ghana with the aim of increasing students’ school attendance rates.
