BIO

Ton La, Jr. (TJ) is a first-year MD/JD student at Baylor College of Medicine and a Summa cum laude and Collegiate Honors graduate of the University of Houston. Since high school, he has volunteered over 1000 hours at Texas Children’s Hospital and the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. Currently, he is a Editorial Advisory Board member of the American Medical Student Association The New Physicianmagazine since May 2015. Outside of school, TJ is a pianist and a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo and Hapkido. Previously at the University of Houston, he represented the U.S. during the 70th Anniversary of D-Day in Caen, France and most of all helped lay the groundwork for the first Texas public Campus Kitchen chapter as an affiliate of the Bonner Leaders Program. TJ is proud of what Brinda and the entire team has accomplished thus far with one of several notable highlights being over 6,000 pounds of food recovered and delivered to residents of New Hope Housing, Inc. and locations such as Star of Hope. It is an honor to be selected as a Resolution Fellow at the 8th Annual Clinton Global Initiative University and he looks forward to the very bright future of the University of Houston Campus Kitchen Chapter. Go Coogs!
