BIO

Thabata is a 22-year-old International Affairs student from Venezuela. Since she was little, she has been passionate about helping people from underserved communities, especially through catholic events from her school that gave her the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective. At the age of 13, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, which sparked her passion to create a change. Inspired by her mother’s strength, she co-founded ALMA, a project focused on early breast cancer detection through education and telemedicine, as well as providing psychological support for patients during and after treatment. Their pilot project in La Guaira, aims to reach its first community, with plans to expand to other rural areas. Before launching ALMA, she was involved in her community, developing a deep sense of empathy. She hopes to create change in Venezuela’s healthcare system, combining her personal experience with her determination to improve women’s lives.
