Sofia is an Anthropology student at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos with a background in community-led climate innovation, food sovereignty, and climate policy. She was a winner of the 2023 SolvED Youth Innovation Challenge at MIT Solve and was recognized by UNICEF as an Under-30 Youth Climate Innovator. In 2024, she served as a Youth Negotiator for Peru at the UN Conference on Climate Change, COP29. She currently works as a Policy & Education Director at Re-Earth Initiative. Sofia previously worked at Ollas Sostenibles, a youth-led initiative focused on building resilient and sustainable food systems in peripheral communities of Lima. This experience inspired her to co-found Roots To Nourish, a social venture that seeks to empower organized communities by providing educational tools to upscale their food sovereignty efforts.
