Shangsi Zhou completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Translation and Interpretation at Shandong University (SDU) in China in 2015. At SDU, she dedicated herself to various pro bono activities for more than four years. She worked for the school’s Youth Volunteer Association for two years, during which she led neighborhood outreach programs promoting civic awareness on the protection of the rights of children living with mental disabilities, and participated in a summer teaching project in Yanggu County of Linyi City, Shangdong Province. Her experiences as a volunteer at a rehabilitation center for children with autism spectrum disorder inspired her to create Care for the Disabled Children from ABC, which aims to break down misconceptions and educate others about people living with disabilities.
