Sarah Saqib Ahmad is an aspiring Microbiologist from Islamabad, Pakistan, specializing in Mycology and Phycology. With a passion for sustainable bio entrepreneurship, Sarah has been cultivating and optimizing algae sourced from local wastewater drainage sites in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to create bioplastic pellets. Sarah aims to foster a culture of sustainable alternatives to plastic in Pakistan by manufacturing cheap raw material for commonplace, every-day use plastic items. Sarah spends her free time in the company of cats and making little Amigurumi projects from balls of yarn and mushroom hunting in every nook and corner she can find. She is enthusiastic about environmentally sustainable practices and biodiversity conservation in South Asia, particularly Pakistan, especially through times of climate change vulnerability.
