Sam Peurifoy is currently pursuing a B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics with emphases in organic synthesis and statistical analysis (University of Miami ’16). He participates in synthetic organic chemistry research and intends to pursue a doctorate upon completion of his undergraduate studies. He was a recipient of an NSF REU Fellowship in 2014 and was a recipient of a RISE-DAAD Undergraduate Scholarship in 2015. Sam’s personal interest in science education stems from his desire to ensure that young minds with the potential for greatness are not wasted in areas with weaker science curriculums and that current students grow into well-informed voters. His Venture, USolar, aims to transform young students into teachers in their community using hands-on demonstrations and oral presentations. Sam is proud and honored to be a Resolution Fellow.
