Safiyyah Olajide is a second-year Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Lagos and also studies Computer Science at the University of the People. She has led climate advocacy campaigns that mobilized over 500 people, conducted award-winning research on oceanic carbon dioxide sequestration using microalgae, and developed educational initiatives to combat food waste and strengthen sustainable agriculture in Nigeria.
Her leadership and innovation have earned her recognition in global competitions and fellowships. Safiyyah is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Second-Wave, a youth-led social venture in Tamale, Ghana, that transforms sargassum seaweed waste into biodegradable packaging and sustainable products through circular economy innovation.
