Kwabena Adu-Darkwa was a student at Ashesi University college majoring in Management Information System. Since childhood, he has been curious about sustainable environmental practices and sanitation. By reading and experimenting with ideas, this curiosity has over the years developed into something more than a passion. He co-founded HHESCO with the aim of helping his local community to address the existing sanitation problems. Upon identifying another major sanitation threat of open defecation, Adu-Darkwa and his team seek to help low income families get access to affordable and environmentally friendly composting toilets.
