Jacquiline Maina is an undergraduate student at EARTH, Costa Rica where she is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Sciences. Her interests lie principally in food security, nutrition, psychology and environmental studies .Jacquiline worked briefly as a relationship officer for Equity Bank Kenya where she developed an interest for microfinance and entrepreneurship. She was a partner in Colibri, a small food processing business at EARTH University whose aim was to use local fruits in marmalade production, as well as develop a healthier granola alternative with locally sourced ingredients .She is currently working on the design and implementation of a hortitherapy project which aims to sensitize teenagers and children on environmental conservation . Jacquiline hopes to go back to her home country Kenya, and work in establishing and implementing better policies in nutrition, food security, as well as play an active role in the restoration of the dry forests.
