BIO

Ivett Facundo is a proud first-generation college student studying at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She is part of the First-Gen and Engaged Scholars program at her university. She is driven and passionate about creating a meaningful impact in her community. Growing up in southwest Detroit, she learned the importance of perseverance, hard work, and overcoming challenges, in hopes of passing that value down to others. In high school, Ivett held positions as captain of her varsity basketball and softball team, president of NHS, and was the first recipient of the Athlete of the Year award. She has co-founded, A Girl’s Dream, an organization that strives to provide girls with mentorship and collaboration opportunities to explore, encourage, and empower them to pursue careers within S.T.E.A.M. She aims to one day become a great role model for women and youth to follow. In her spare time, she loves volunteering and expressing her creativeness.
