Grace Bako is the founder and director of Mshauri Youth Empowerment Program, MYEP, a non-profit organization that seeks to bridge the inequality gap in Kenya by availing learning resources to under-resourced areas in the country. Her passion for inclusivity for all and empowerment of the vulnerable in society is the driving force behind the vision of achieving wholesome development of students in under-resourced areas. Before establishing MYEP, she was involved in the mentorship of street children in Nairobi’s CBD reuniting them with their families. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction studies at the University of Cape Town, a course she pursued to fulfill her desire of developing sustainable, affordable homes in a bid to alleviate homelessness in Kenya and the world at large.
