Fabian Pop Pop is originally from Carcha, northern Guatemala. He went to high-school in Norway and now he is a student at Luther College, Iowa, where he is studying International Studies, Economics and Management. He speaks Maya Q’eqchi’, Spanish, English and French. His interests include education of children and youth in underprivileged areas of the world, rights of migrants, poetry and social entrepreneurship. Back in Guatemala, he represented his schools in different regional and national events. He has received awards for academic excellence and in composition of poetry. He has worked in several student-led organizations and on projects of non-profit organizations focused on social justice. In his home country he has led projects dedicated to improving the education of children in rural areas.
