Esau Mhandu is a tenacious guy who believes in a society where each person has access to
biomedical attention regardless of their social status. Esau grew up in a small growth point of
Zimbabwe called Murewa. Esau was awarded a Capernaum Trust Scholarship to attend his
secondary and high school education at Murewa High School. Following that, he was also awarded
a Mastercard Foundation Scholarship which catered for all his undergraduate costs at Ashesi
University, Ghana where he studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering. While at Ashesi
University, he has conducted various projects and volunteer activities in the aim of giving back to
society and improve its well-being. Currently, he is enrolled at American University of Beirut in
Lebanon under the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship to pursue Biomedical Engineering, MS
and pursue his passion of improving the biomedical industry through design of devices aimed to
improve accuracy in diagnosing diseases.
