Emily Moschowits is a Biology and Food Studies graduate from Hamilton College. During her time there, she became involved with the food community both on- and off-campus. Through a two-year internship program, she joined the local food policy council, learning the issues that surrounded the food landscape of Utica, NY. The following summer she studied local, sustainable foodways in Upstate NY and Italy in order to better understand what the future of food could look like for Utica. These experiences, along with training and workshops from the Hamilton College Levitt Center, culminated in the idea for Utica Greens, a nonprofit cultivating community and local food through urban gardens. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, researching current trends in science, baking, photographing, and spending time with her friends and family.
