BIO

David Kema, a sophomore transfer at Rutgers Newark, defies easy definition. A self-described “renaissance man”, David finds connections across disciplines. His current major, Management Information Systems, resonates with his analytical approach while helping him see parallels between complex supply chain logistics and his own way of breaking down problems into manageable parts. David’s academic pursuits extend beyond personal ambition. He views business as a tool to empower communities across the diaspora, those with shared cultural roots as big or as small as they may be, scattered around the world. Witnessing the sacrifices his loved ones made to build a new life in the US fuels his desire to give back and create positive change. David’s empathetic nature is a cornerstone of his character. A guiding principle in his life comes from a proverb spoken in his native Igbo language: “Ulo m wu ulo gi” (My home is your home). This phrase, passed down by his brother, fosters a strong sense of community and a commitment to helping others. This, combined with his time management skills honed from years as a student athlete, positions him to tackle complex challenges. David sees the Resolution Project as a platform to amplify his impact. With the Resolution Fellowship, David hopes to learn from experienced leaders and collaborate with like-minded individuals to create positive change for pressing social issues on a global scale.
