David is a former refugee child who left his parents at 11 years to look for educational opportunities in Kakuma camp, Kenya. He got sponsorship to continue his studies in Uganda until Makerere University under MasterCard foundation scholarship and finished his Bachelor’s in Nursing Science. David is currently the CEO and founder of Refugees Educare Africa (RECA), an organization that supports educational advancement for refugee children by enhancing access to educational materials and learning support through mentorship and guidance and increase opportunities of children who have been subjected to great hardships. David was also a proactive student at the university through involvement in students’ clubs and associations. He has organized and participated in many givebacks and community service programs. David was awarded a lifetime fellowship by Resolution Project and Clinton Global Initiative based on his outstanding leadership capabilities and commitment to making positive change in the world.
