Carine Ishimwe is a Bachelor’s degree student in Information Systems and Technology, specializing in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, at United States International University–Africa (USIU-A). She is currently an intern at UVU Bio Rwanda Bioeconomy Hub, where she supports enterprise development and digital systems management, including stakeholder data tracking, reporting, and incubation process optimization. Carine is the founder of Unity Lens, an innovative storytelling platform that uses virtual reality and artificial intelligence to preserve Rwanda’s history, foster empathy, and promote unity through immersive, interactive experiences. A Mastercard Foundation Scholar, Generation Connect Youth Envoy with the International Telecommunication Union, and Resolution Social Venture Challenge winner, she has also been selected twice for the prestigious Global Moonshot Young Leaders Camp (2024 and 2025) held in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic. Carine is passionate about leveraging technology to solve social challenges, inspire positive change, and empower communities across Africa and beyond.
