Alexis Ghersi attends the University of Central Florida to receive a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Spanish Language. Within UCF, Alexis holds two part-time job positions and presents her leadership with the Pre-Professional Medical Society and Lead Scholars Academy Program. Some of her leadership activities include coordinating events to raise money for families with financial distress and educating younger students. Alexis is active in her community by volunteering with Shepherd’s Hope, Orlando Regional Medical Center, local food shares, and the Special Olympics. She is also involved in the Program for Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE) and Research and Mentoring Program (RAMP) where she is studying a protein mutation known to cause neurodegenerative disorders. Through her commitment, Alexis has developed a passion for pursuing medicine and wants to eventually share her knowledge with others as a future physician.
