Based in Bainet, Haiti, this venture is a community project that aims to provide farmers with the organization, tools, and equipment for growing and turning yucca into bread and tortillas.  Through these efforts, farmers will be able to fight poverty through building a sustainable agricultural business with a renewable, marketable product. Many in Bainet are not familiar with cassava as a bread product, and part of the challenge with this venture involved convincing people to use cassava outside of traditional preparations. The project is evolving based on feedback from people in Bainet and may grow to incorporate corn. To date, over 45 farmers have participated in the development of Cassava Yucca Factory Bainet.
