Prior to joining Ares Management as Managing Director, Ashley Fochtman oversaw capital raising, new product development and investor services as Head of Business Development & Investor Relations at Atalaya Capital Management, an alternative investment advisory firm founded in 2006 and headquartered in New York City. Atalaya makes opportunistic credit and special situation investments primarily via three principal strategies – real estate, corporate and financial assets. Prior to joining Atalaya, Ms. Fochtman was the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Opus Point Partners, a New York based alternative asset management firm invested primarily in healthcare equities and select private placements. Ms. Fochtman was previously an Energy Derivatives Marketer for Goldman Sachs & Co’s energy trading division, J. Aron, where she developed and executed risk management strategies for the firm’s corporate clients in order to mitigate commodity price fluctuation. Ms. Fochtman began her career as an Investor Relations and Marketing Associate with Amaranth Group, Inc., a large multi-strategy hedge fund. Ms. Fochtman received her AB in Government from Harvard University
