BIO

Born and raised in the city of Kabul in Afghanistan, Babur is an award-winning social entrepreneur based in Ottawa, currently completing his honors bachelors degree in Biology with a concentration in Health Sciences at Carleton University. He has many years of experience in non-profit work and has coordinated numerous charity events not only in Afghanistan and in the United States, but also in Canada. Throughout his sixteen years of living in Afghanistan, he witnessed the suffering of millions of his Afghan compatriots as Afghanistan transitioned into a democratic government after the downfall of the Talibanic forces. After seeking almost eight years of refuge in Pakistan, Babur returned to Afghanistan to attend the country’s most prestigious school, the International School of Kabul through a 90% scholarship awarded to him by the United States Aid for International Development (USAID). Through his two year stay at the school, Babur translated the Diaries of Anne Frank into Dari for the first time, and after this outstanding academic performance he moved to the United States where he studied at the Collegiate School as an exchange student. Babur’s tragic experiences in Afghanistan, and while being a refugee, helped transform his views on the critical state of his homeland and set him upon a new mission: to become Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health. Although not before expanding access to healthcare to his fellow compatriots. Babur’s insatiable hunger for improvements in the Public Healthcare systems of his homeland and other third-world countries is the primary drive behind YouSeeClear, since he is a true believer of solving the issue of Public Health in his country and other war-torn countries by starting with small pieces of the puzzle.
