Christelle Kwizera, 21, is a young Rwandan activist and aspiring social entrepreneur. Currently a senior in Mechanical Engineering at Oklahoma Christian University, Kwizera works full time to promote youth-led initiatives and help fellow young people achieve their full potential.  Kwizera is the CFO of Emerging Leaders and Entrepreneurs of Rwanda, a platform for youth innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship that seeks to inspire and motivate young people, foster creative solutions, as well as provide advocacy to concerned governmental institutions. Kwizera served as Chief Creative officer of Isaro Foundation, a thriving non-profit that promotes the culture of reading and writing in Rwanda. She has worked closely with UNFPA Rwanda in the summer of 2010 and 2013, during World Population Week and as a youth delegate to the International conference on Motherhood Newborn and Child Health, where she was a panelist during a youth chill session with UNFPA E.D. In 2013, Christelle addressed a group of ministers of health, youth, and finance at a High Level Ministerial Meeting, part of the ICFP13, on the SRH needs of Africa’s young people. Christelle is a Sierra Club GPEP fellow, working on jointly addressing environmental and reproductive health needs. Christelle leads WaterAccessRwanda, a social impact company that offers affordable and durable water solutions with the goal of providing clean water. WARwanda has drilled 14 shallow wells and is diversifying its product offering to include micron filters in the year 2015. Christelle has been on the honor roll consistently since 2009 and has received awards such as the determination character award and recently was selected as a 2014 MILEAD fellow, recognizing her as an emerging African woman leader among more than 1200 applicants. Ms. Kwizera looks forward to a life of service, positively impacting others by putting to good use the talents that God has entrusted to her
